Which statement states the difference between growth and development correctly?

Answer: C.

Growth is the measurable part — height, weight, number of teeth — and it slows and stops broadly by the end of adolescence. Development is change in kind: from babbling to argument, from grasping to writing, and it continues through life. The most tempting wrong option simply swaps the two and says growth is lifelong; that reversal is the single most common error on this question. The option splitting heredity and environment between them is wrong by construction, since both growth and development are produced by the two together. And development is not unobservable — improved motor skill and social behaviour are exactly how it is observed.
