The syllabus splits the thirty questions evenly: fifteen from the six content themes and fifteen from a named list of pedagogical issues — concept and scope, significance, learning principles, approaches to presenting a concept, activity and experiment, discussion, evaluation, teaching material and the problems of teaching. Five and ten both understate a half that decides the section, and they are chosen by candidates who treat EVS as a general-knowledge block. The last option is the belief that costs most marks: every subject section on this paper carries its own pedagogy, so a candidate preparing content alone is capped at half of EVS before the paper starts.
